Akira Mato
PHOTOGRAPHER
My photographic work is rooted in the discipline of analog photography. Working with film taught me patience, restraint, and responsibility. Each frame required intention, each exposure had consequences. Mistakes could not be undone, only understood. This process shaped how I see light, composition, and timing.
From this analog foundation, my understanding of digital photography evolved. Digital tools offer speed, precision, and flexibility, but it was the analog experience that taught me how to use them with purpose. Today, I work between both processes — informed by limitation, enabled by technology — allowing analog discipline and digital clarity to complement one another in how moments are observed and preserved.
